In the dark!

Tonight I'm in the dark ... literally!! Except for a few candles (which smell beautiful!), my home is in complete darkness and for the past 5 hours.

What is interesting is how much we rely on power for our daily lives. Tonight there is no TV, no music, no cooking (I don't have a gas oven/stove top) and it's been a really weird experience. I'm relying on the battery life of my laptop, but even that is now down to 32% and will end very soon. I can't charge my mobile phone, so I have that attached to my laptop just to 'top it up' and I can't use my landline for some reason as it's also connected to the power!!

I've enjoyed an evening of reading and reflection. As I turn my head to look at my candles again, so simple, yet so powerful, relying on the air around to give me light, it makes me think how basic life is, yet how complicated we've made it.

I'm grateful for a night 'in the dark' because it has shed more light than I could have ever imagined.

Good Night!

Facebook, MySpace and Blogger ...

It's been quite some time since my last post ... but I've got a good excuse! Facebook has now been taking my allocated 'online' time and after keeping MySpace up to date, there's just no time for Blogger!!

This year has already been full with work trips to Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane, Sydney and country Victoria ... all good and certainly keeps me busy!! The next few weeks will see me in Hobart, Adelaide and possibly Brisbane again!

Easter 2008 has provided a time of reflection and for some reason the imagery of Christ with sweat drops of blood has been really challenging me. I'm still processing what I've been reading and would be interested if anyone has any comments/insight. It's not something I've ever considered before, so I'm grateful for a any comments.

How was your Easter? Blessings!
